I'm sure you are all asking, "Why adopt?" Well, I have felt that tug on my heart for many years. There are lots of ways to help orphans, but John and I truly feel called by God to make this decision, and believe me, it wasn't taken lightly! In fact, I tried to resist it as much as I could (I'm ashamed to say) and completely cleared my house of all things "baby" around December!! However, while I watched a friend bring home 2 more girls from China, I began to be bombarded with images and thoughts of adoption and literally could not get the idea out of my mind. Through many days of prayer trying to discern if this was our will or God's will, we realized without a doubt that this IS God's will for our lives. Once we made the commitment to move forward, and found the little girl that God intended to be our little girl, we were given a complete perfect peace! We are certainly not perfect parents, but we are certain that we can unconditionally love, provide stability, protect, and disciple our little girl to live for Christ!
So....the Journey begins!!!
No, we're not in China yet! Just home from a great vacation in Florida with my mom and dad. We visited the China Pavilion at Epcot which helped us feel a few steps closer to Emily!!
