File = Family

Yesterday was a great day!!!!  We received our daughter's file!!  I slept terribly on Thursday night, waking numerous times.  For the past 2.5 months my ipad or phone has been next to my bed just in case we got "The" email.  Well, I refused to check it and be disappointed yet again.  At 6:30, I gave in and looked.  Our file was there!  We were so excited.  We had to accept the file by submitting a Letter of Intent and then later that evening received word that we had our PA or pre-approval to adopt our daughter.  She will be ours!!!

Now I can FINALLY introduce you to our sweet daughter and sister, Shay Meilyn.

Shay is 7 years old (2 years older than Emily) and will hopefully join our family before the end of the year.  We are praying she is home by Christmas!

Here is a video from our agency that we saw 7 months ago when we started the process of her adoption.  Isn't she darling??  We love you sweet girl, and can't wait to bring you home!

And...Still Waiting.....

It's been a tough week in the Dunkle household.  We lost our sweet dog, Koda, and it has been a difficult adjustment without his playfulness and companionship.  We miss you and love you, Koda Bear!

Last Wednesday morning, I started hearing that others in our agency who were waiting for files from the same partnership orphanage were receiving their files!!  I continued to check my email, but there was no file.  I finally (ok, only after about an hour!! ) emailed our agency and asked.  She responded a few hours later that, unfortunately, although she had received the batch of files that has been delayed for 2 1/2 months, our daughter's was not included.  Needless to say, I had the big UGLY cry.  At work, nonetheless.  Finally, after my pity party, I picked myself back up and remembered that this is not my timing, but HIS!!  And, although I don't understand why we didn't receive her file yet, our agency reassures us that we should get it by next week.  So, I will HOPEFULLY get to post a picture of our sweet daughter soon.  Our agency director is also working on getting us a video update.  We are so anxious to move this process forward, make her our daughter and sister and be LOVED.  We love you sweet girl and can't wait to bring you home!
