Small Steps Forward!

We are on day 20 of our LOA wait and found out 2 days ago that our dossier is OOT (out of translation!)  Don't you love all of these acronyms??!!!  That means that all of our documents are now translated into Chinese and are "in process."  We were so excited to get that news already!  Now, we wait to get our actual LOA!!  Some people have received this in 2-3 weeks from OOT!!! 

The LOA means that China is giving us the final approval to adopt Emily.  Then we will send our LOA approval along with more documentation to USCIS again to get their final approval.  Here are the steps we will still need to go through:

LOA
I-800 Approval
NVC Cable (petition for Emily's visa)
Article 5 (review of visa petition)
TA (travel approval!!)

Average time from LOA to TA is around 2 months.  Once we have our travel approval, we can make our flight and hotel reservations!   Yeah!!!!  It's starting to feel more real!!  We may have Emily home for Christmas!  Please keep us and Emily in your prayers!

As of Thursday, August 2 we have.......



LID= Log In Date.  This means that our Dossier arrived in China and is now being translated.  YAY!  The countdown for our LOA (Letter of Acceptance) begins!
